Gentle computer-controlled traction separates the vertebrae, creating negative pressure that draws the disc back off the nerve.

The mechanism

How spinal decompression relieves radiating pain

The DRX9000 applies precise, computer-controlled traction in cycles — not a static stretch. That distinction is what allows it to create true negative pressure inside the disc.

01 — Traction

Vertebrae are gently separated

Logarithmic pull-and-relax cycles increase the space between the affected vertebrae without triggering the muscle guarding that a static stretch causes.

02 — Decompression

Negative pressure forms in the disc

The pressure drop inside the disc draws herniated or bulging material back toward the center, off the compressed nerve root.

03 — Relief

Radiating pain begins to ease

As pressure on the nerve root drops, radiating pain, numbness, and tingling down the leg or arm typically start to improve over a course of sessions.

Does this sound familiar?

Signs your pain may be coming from a disc

Sharp or burning pain that runs from your lower back down into your leg or foot
Neck pain that radiates into your shoulder, arm, or hand
Numbness, tingling, or weakness in your foot, hand, or fingers
Pain that gets worse with sitting, and eases when you stand or walk
An MRI or X-ray already shows a herniated or bulging disc
You've tried rest, medication, or physical therapy without lasting relief

Common questions

Before you call

Is spinal decompression the same as regular traction?+

No. The DRX9000 uses computer-controlled, logarithmic pull-and-relax cycles rather than a constant pull, which is what allows it to create true negative pressure inside the disc instead of just stretching the muscles around it.

Do I need an MRI first?+

Not necessarily. If you already have imaging, bring it — it helps confirm whether decompression is a good fit. If you don't, we'll evaluate your symptoms directly during your visit.

How many sessions does it usually take?+

It varies by case. Most decompression plans run over several weeks of sessions — your exam is where we'd map out a plan specific to your disc level and symptoms.

Is this covered by insurance?+

Spinal decompression is typically not covered by insurance. Because of that, we offer affordable treatment programs that can be paid over time so cost isn't a barrier to care.
